A dog carrying extra weight rarely needs less food so much as a different food, and Burns' Weight Control recipe is built around that distinction: oats at 55% and brown rice at 18% make up the bulk, with dried chicken at 17% as the named protein, rather than the higher-fat recipe an active adult food would carry.

Crude protein comes out at 18.5%, crude fat at 7.5%, crude fibre at 7.5% and crude ash at 6.5%, with calcium at 1% and phosphorus at 0.70% — a fat figure noticeably lower than a standard maintenance food, in keeping with a weight-control formula. Burns direct owners to their own feeding guide on the official product page for exact daily amounts by bodyweight, rather than printing a table on this pack.

• Oats 55%, brown rice 18%, dried chicken 17%
• Crude protein 18.5%, crude fat 7.5%
• Crude fibre 7.5%, crude ash 6.5%
• Calcium 1%, phosphorus 0.70%
• Formulated for adult to senior weight-control dogs
• 2kg or 12kg bag

On feeding amounts. There is no feeding table printed on this pack — Burns direct you to their feeding guide on the official product page to work out a daily amount by bodyweight, rather than giving generic ranges here. If your dog is on a weight-management plan, that is also a conversation worth having with a vet rather than working from a bag alone.

Who it's for: owners of adult or senior dogs who need to manage weight, and want a lower-fat recipe built on oats and rice rather than simply feeding less of a higher-fat food.
