Full description

A beef recipe is not necessarily built mainly from beef. For this adult dog food, wholegrain wheat comes first and the declared beef sits within a wider meat-and-bone meal figure.

Burgess Supadog Adult Complete Beef is a complete dry food for adult dogs in a 12.5KG bag. Meat and bone meal makes up 13%, including beef at 4%. The recipe also contains wheat feed, soya bean meal feed, poultry fat, poultry meal, poultry gravy, sugar, dried peas and glycerol. Its analysis is crude protein 20%, crude fat 8%, crude fibre 2.5%, crude ash 8.5% and calcium 1.9%.

Look past the word beef. Beef is declared at 4%, while the recipe also contains poultry meal and poultry-derived ingredients; wholegrain wheat is first in the composition. Burgess says to use its feeding table as a guide, adjust for appetite, environment and activity, change over 7-10 days, monitor body condition, count treats and provide fresh water.

Who it's for: adult-dog owners wanting a complete dry food in a large bag and who are comfortable with a wheat-led recipe containing both beef and poultry ingredients.

Burgess Supadog Adult Complete Beef

Why we chose it

The large-bag format is straightforward, but the honest reason to list it is the clarity of the 4% beef declaration within 13% meat and bone meal. That lets shoppers decide whether the recipe matches what they mean by beef food.
