Full description

Most adult dogs don't need a special diet - no sensitivity to work around, no weight to manage, no extra workload to fuel - they just need a complete, balanced food fed consistently. This is BETA's answer to that ordinary case rather than one of their targeted recipes.

Chicken meal leads the composition at 28%, with wheat, corn, wheat middlings and rice making up the bulk of the rest, alongside a chicory root prebiotic (1%). Fat sits at 13%, between the lower-fat senior and light recipes and the higher-fat working dog formula in BETA's range.

Chicken meal (28%)
Protein 26%, fat 13%, crude ash 6.5%, crude fibre 2.5%
Omega-3 fatty acids 0.18%, omega-6 fatty acids 3.0%
Energy 374kcal per 100g
Sold in more than one bag size

On "complete." Purina describe this as complete pet food for adult dogs generally, without a stated activity or breed-size qualifier the way several of BETA's other lines carry one. That makes it a reasonable default, but it isn't tailored to a large breed, a working dog or a dog needing to lose weight the way BETA's other recipes are.

Who it's for: owners of an ordinary adult dog with no diagnosed sensitivity, weight issue or working role, who want a straightforward complete food rather than a targeted one.

Beta 1 Adult Dog Chicken

Why we chose it

This is the recipe we'd point a new customer to by default, because most dogs coming through the door don't have a specific dietary reason to need anything else - it's a genuinely all-purpose adult food rather than one built around a single problem. Chicken as the named protein is also the one most dogs have already eaten before, so switching onto it tends to be uneventful.
