Small dog food usually comes in smaller bags to match smaller appetites, and this one sits between the tiny trial-size bags and the bulk sacks aimed at bigger breeds — a size worth having when you don't want food going stale before it's finished.

The recipe leans on wholegrain cereals at 45% alongside meat and animal derivatives at 16%, of which beef is the named protein, plus vegetable protein extracts, oils and fats, and a small amount of dried pea and dried carrot. Bakers describe it as formulated specifically for adult small dogs.

• Wholegrain cereals at 45%, meat and animal derivatives at 16%
• Beef named as the protein source
• Protein 25%, fat 12%, ash 8%, fibre 3%
• Formulated for adult small dogs
• Sold in a 2.85KG bag

On the composition figures. The percentage figures for cereals and meat in this recipe are marked with footnote symbols on the source label that didn't carry through cleanly to this card — we've quoted the numbers as supplied, but if the printed bag shows a slightly different qualifier next to either figure, that's the footnote explaining it, not a different recipe.

Who it's for: owners of adult small dogs wanting a beef-based, wholegrain kibble in a mid-size bag rather than committing to a large sack.
