Full description

Trying a new food on a dog that already eats fine is a bit of a gamble - you're paying full price to find out whether they'll actually eat it, before you know if a bigger bag is worth committing to.

This 2kg bag is Autarky's Succulent Salmon Complete, built on a minimum of 35% salmon alongside poultry meal and chicken fat, with oil at 13.5% - noticeably higher than a general maintenance food. Omega 3 sits at 1.1% and omega 6 at 2.8%, and it's described as a complete feedingstuff for adult working dogs up to around the onset of old age at 7 years.

Salmon minimum 35%, plus poultry meal and chicken fat
Protein 24%, oil 13.5%, fibre 3%, ash 6%
Omega 3 at 1.1%, omega 6 at 2.8%
Complete food for adult working dogs up to around 7 years old
Smaller 2kg bag, good for trying the recipe first
Yucca schidigera and a range of herbs included

On the name. Salmon leads the ingredient list at a minimum of 35%, but poultry meal and chicken fat are also in the composition. This isn't a poultry-free recipe even though salmon is the one named on the front.

Who it's for: owners who want to try this higher-fat salmon recipe on an active or working adult dog before committing to a bigger bag, or smaller households that don't get through 12kg quickly.

Autarky Adult Succulent Salmon Complete

Why we chose it

A 2kg bag is the sensible way to find out whether a fussier dog will actually eat this before buying the 12kg version. The oil content is the same higher figure either size, which is what actually matters if your dog is working rather than just walked.
