Just as with its Chicken stablemate, it's worth reading past the name on the front of this bag before assuming beef is the main ingredient rather than one of several.

Arkwrights Complete Beef is made from cereals, meat and animal derivatives (minimum 4% beef), oils and fats and minerals. Analysis gives 18% protein, 7.3% crude oils and fats, 3% crude fibres, 6% crude ash and 9% moisture. It's sold as a complete food, part of a range Arkwrights also sell as Chicken and as "Extra".

On the name. "Complete Beef" states a minimum of 4% beef within the meat and animal derivatives category, with cereals as the largest ingredient. It's a genuine beef-containing food, but beef is a minor component of the recipe rather than the headline the name implies.

Who it's for: owners after a budget complete dry food who aren't relying on beef being a major share of the recipe — anyone needing a higher-meat-content food should look further up the range.
