Full description

Grain free and potato free are not the same claim, and a dog that reacts to white potato specifically needs a food that has actually swapped it out, not just one that skips wheat.

Arden Grange's Grain Free Lamb & Superfoods recipe uses fresh lamb (23%) and lamb meat meal (20%), with sweet potato and tapioca rather than potato or rice as the carbohydrate source. It adds a spread of dried berries, cranberry and pomegranate extract, chia seeds and spirulina, alongside the usual glucosamine, MSM and chondroitin.

On the "superfoods". Cranberry, pomegranate, blueberry, mulberry, lingonberry and rosehip extracts each appear at 500mg/kg — a small, consistent addition across the range rather than one standout ingredient. Arden Grange do not publish a fat content figure for this recipe on the card supplied to us.

Who it's for: a dog that needs to avoid rice, potato or grains specifically, on a lamb protein, rather than a dog with no dietary restrictions.

Arden Grange Adult Dog Grain Free Lamb & Superfoods

Why we chose it

The sweet potato and tapioca combination genuinely avoids white potato and rice, which matters for the specific dogs that react to those rather than grain in general. It is a more useful distinction than a plain grain-free label gives you on its own.
