Twenty-four pouches of chicken in gravy, with three of the four recipes carrying a second meat at 5%. Pouches suit dogs who eat once and walk away, because there is nothing left in the fridge afterwards.

The percentages are worth knowing before you pick a favourite. Plain Chicken Breast in Gravy is the highest at 50% chicken breast. The three duos are 45% chicken breast with 5% duck, beef or lamb. In every case the rest is potato starch and a vegetable gelling agent, which is what makes the gravy a gravy.

No. Applaws label Taste Toppers as complementary pet food, so it goes over a complete diet.

How much beef is actually in the beef one?

Five per cent. The chicken breast is 45%. The same is true of the duck and lamb recipes.

Does Applaws publish protein and fat figures?

Not for this range. Their product pages carry the composition and a kcal/kg figure and stop there, so we have not quoted a panel.
