A joint supplement only works if it goes into the bowl every day, and the ones that get abandoned in a cupboard by February are usually the ones that were fiddly to give in the first place.

These are capsules of green lipped mussel powder — AniForte state 3.3% glycosaminoglycans, 3.2% omega-3 fatty acids and 0.63% omega-6 fatty acids in that powder — inside a vegan shell made from hydroxypropylmethylcellulose rather than gelatine. AniForte source the mussel from a licensed New Zealand marine farm and freeze-dry it, which is their stated reason for not cooking the nutrients out of it.

• Green lipped mussel powder in a vegan capsule shell
• 3.3% glycosaminoglycans in the mussel powder
• 3.2% omega-3 fatty acids
• 0.63% omega-6 fatty acids
• Capsule shell is hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, not gelatine
• 100 capsules per tub

What the card doesn't cover. AniForte don't publish a daily dose on the information passed to us, and this is a supplement rather than a medicine — how many capsules a day depends on the animal, so check the pack or a vet before starting, especially alongside another joint product.

Who it's for: owners of a dog or cat on a long-term joint routine who want a capsule form rather than a powder to mix in, and who are happy with a vegan-shell product rather than a gelatine one.
