A soft toy shaped like something entirely inedible is still, apparently, a good way to hold a dog's attention - the squeak usually does more of the work than the shape.
This is Ancol's Christmas Katie Carrot, a soft plush dog toy measuring approximately 55cm, with a built-in squeak for extra interest. Ancol say it's designed to hold the dog's scent over time, and it's supplied in packaging described as widely recyclable.
- Measures approximately 55cm
- Soft plush with a built-in squeak
- Designed to hold the dog's scent
- Packaging described as widely recycled
- Designed for cuddling and gentle play, not indestructible
One thing worth knowing. Ancol are explicit that this is a cuddle toy for gentle play rather than a tough chew, and dogs should be supervised with it - it isn't described as indestructible, so a determined chewer may get through it faster than a rubber toy.
Who it's for: dogs that enjoy carrying or cuddling a long soft toy, particularly ones that respond well to a squeak, rather than dogs that dismantle every soft toy they're given.

Why we chose it
At around 55cm this is a genuinely long toy for a plush, which gives a dog more to grab hold of and carry than a compact one. The squeak and scent-retention are also the details that keep a soft toy interesting past the first day, Christmas theme aside.
