Duck sits further down most dogs' allergy lists than chicken or beef, which is one reason it turns up so often in diets built for dogs already flagged as sensitive to something else.

As with the rest of this range, 2.5kg of raw ingredients goes into every 1kg that comes out of the bag, and duck between fresh and dried forms makes up 80% of the finished recipe — 66% fresh duck, 14% dried. Sweet potato, peas, apple and chickpeas carry the rest, styled by AATU as a blend of 8 vegetables, 8 fruits, 8 herbs and 8 botanicals.

On the feeding guide. As with the rest of this range, AATU don't print a fixed feeding table on the bag — their calculator online works out an amount by age, weight and activity level instead, so there's nothing printed here for a quick check before you've been online.

Who it's for: owners feeding a duck-based diet for a suspected sensitivity to more common proteins, avoiding grain and white potato at the same time.
