Hot pavement does more damage to dogs than most owners realise, and the injury is rarely obvious until the pads have already blistered. A mesh boot is the summer answer rather than the winter one: it puts a sole between paw and ground while still letting air through, so paws are protected without cooking inside a sealed rubber shoe on a July afternoon.

Each boot closes with two velcro straps rather than one, and the second strap is what keeps them on a running dog. A single strap pivots and works loose; two hold the boot square to the leg. The straps carry reflective trim, so a dog moving ahead of you on a dark lane is picked out low to the ground by headlights. Sizing is the whole game with boots. Numbered sizes 1 to 8 mean nothing until they are matched to a paw. Stand your dog on paper, mark the width and length of a front paw while they are bearing weight, and send us both figures. Front and back paws often differ, so a boot that fits in front can be loose behind. Mesh is breathable rather than waterproof, so keep these for dry ground.
