What a Yakers chew actually is
Yakers make hard cheese chews, traditionally based on yak and cow milk, pressed and dried into a very dense, long-lasting bar or stick rather than the rawhide-style rolled chews many other brands sell. The range includes a plain original alongside flavoured versions such as strawberry, blueberry, cranberry, mint, apple and peanut butter banana, plus crunchy bites and bars aimed at smaller dogs or lighter chewers.
The defining feature of this style of chew is how long it lasts compared with a soft biscuit or a rawhide roll — the density that makes it last is also what makes it genuinely tough, which is worth knowing before choosing a size for your dog.
