The composition is four items: milk at 99.5%, mint at 0.4%, lime juice and salt. The panel reads 60% protein, which is genuine here rather than an artefact, because the chew really is concentrated milk solids. It is also 387 kcal per 100g and a whole chew is 541 kcal, which is a large number for a dog under 15kg.

Yakers publish no frequency, only sizing and supervision guidance. At 541 kcal a chew, we would treat one as a weekend occupier for a medium dog rather than a daily habit.

Why is the protein 60%?

Because it is hardened milk. Unlike rawhide, that protein figure reflects what the chew actually is.

What do I do with the last small piece?

Take it away before it can be swallowed whole. Many owners microwave the stub for a minute, which puffs it into a crisp that can be eaten safely.
