Exmarid is a small, focused brand built entirely around dog skin care — a spray, a shampoo, a supplement and an ointment, all aimed at dry, itchy or scaly skin rather than anything else. It's a specialist range rather than a general grooming brand, and worth knowing about specifically if your dog has ongoing skin irritation.
What's in the range
The Exmarid line includes a tea tree and aloe vera spray to soothe itchy skin, a deep cleansing shampoo formulated for dogs prone to dry or scaly skin with a natural anti-scurf approach, a starflower oil supplement added to food for dry or itchy skin from the inside, and an ointment made with calamine, cade oil and sulphur for more localised problem areas.
The spray is suitable for both dogs and cats, but the rest of the range — the shampoo, supplement and ointment — is formulated specifically for dogs, and the ointment in particular is not intended for use on cats.
Who it suits
This range suits a dog with an established pattern of dry, flaky or itchy skin, rather than a dog with no particular skin issues who just needs a normal grooming shampoo. It's the kind of range an owner reaches for once they've noticed recurring scratching, scurf or a dull, dry coat rather than as a first grooming purchase.
