Is Autarky a good food for a dog with a sensitive stomach?

Many owners find it settles well, but every dog is different, and 'good for sensitive stomachs' is not a guarantee for any specific dog. Introduce it gradually and watch how your dog gets on, and speak to your vet if digestive issues persist.

Does Autarky make wet food as well as dry?

Autarky is primarily known for its dry dog food range across life stages. If you are looking for wet food specifically, our dog-wet-food range covers other brands that focus on that format.

How do I know which Autarky bag size to buy?

Match the bag size to how much your dog eats daily and how quickly you will get through it, since dry food is best used within a reasonable time of opening for freshness. A smaller bag is often the sensible starting point if you have not fed the brand before.

Can I buy Autarky puppy food from you for a large breed puppy?

Check the specific bag's labelling for the size and breed guidance it states, since a large breed puppy has different growth needs from a smaller one. If you are unsure which is right, our customer contact details are the quickest way to check before you order.

Where to buy Autarky dog food

Yes, we stock the Autarky range and post it out ourselves. Autarky is a British dry dog food brand covering puppy, adult, senior and working formulas, built around named meat proteins rather than vague meat meal. If you have been searching for somewhere to buy it, our range covers most of the life stages the brand makes.

What Autarky makes

Autarky's range runs across the usual life stages, from puppy and junior formulas through adult recipes to senior and lighter options for less active or overweight dogs, alongside working dog formulas aimed at more physically demanding routines. Recipes are generally built around a named protein such as chicken or salmon.

As with any brand, the exact ingredients and formulation vary by product, so it is worth checking the specific bag you are considering against your dog's life stage and any dietary needs, rather than assuming every Autarky product suits every dog.

The range we carry

We hold Autarky's puppy, adult and mature recipes, along with grain-free options for owners who prefer to avoid cereal ingredients. Stock levels move with demand, so if a particular bag size or flavour is not showing as available right now, it is worth checking back rather than assuming we have dropped it from the range for good.

We pick, pack and post every order ourselves, so once you have chosen the right bag for your dog, it comes from us directly rather than through a separate retailer.

Switching your dog onto it

If your dog is currently on a different food, introduce Autarky gradually over about a week, increasing the new food's share of each meal a little at a time. A sudden full switch is one of the most common causes of a temporary stomach upset, whatever the two foods actually contain.

Keep an eye on your dog's stools and general energy through the changeover week, and slow the transition down further if anything looks off. Most dogs settle onto a new food without any trouble once it has been introduced gradually rather than swapped over in one go.
