Applaws is built around a simple idea: recipes with a high percentage of named meat or fish, and as little else added as the format allows. This guide explains how the range is structured, so you can work out which recipe and format suits your pet before you feed a single pouch.
How the range is structured
The core Applaws range is wet cat food packed in broth or in jelly rather than gravy, which tends to mean fewer added thickeners on the ingredients list than a typical gravy-style pouch. Recipes are named for their main protein - tuna, chicken, mackerel, and combinations like chicken with wild rice - so you can see roughly what you're getting before you check the small print.
For dogs, the range is smaller and mostly built around Taste Toppers: wet pouches and tins meant to be added to a dry food rather than fed as a whole meal on their own. That distinction matters when you're feeding it - a topper is not automatically a complete food, and the pack will say clearly whether a recipe is complete or complementary.
