Full description

A kitten's first solid meals set a lot of eating habits that stick for years, which is part of why a kitten-specific wet food tends to name its meat content more precisely than a generic adult one.

Applaws build this from chicken at 50%, chicken breast at 10% and chicken liver at 5%, alongside rice and a vegetable gelling agent to set the jelly. It's labelled a complete food, so it can be the entire meal rather than a topper. It analyses at 10% protein, 6% fat, 0.1% fibre, 1% ash and 81% moisture.

Chicken 50%, chicken breast 10%, chicken liver 5%
Complete food, not a topper
Protein 10%, fat 6%
Crude fibre 0.1%, crude ash 1%
Moisture 81%

On the protein content. At 10% protein this reads modestly against a dry kitten food, but that's typical of a high-moisture wet food at 81% water content — the two aren't directly comparable without accounting for the moisture difference.

Who it's for: owners of a kitten who want a complete wet food with three named chicken cuts rather than a generic 'meat and animal derivatives' listing.

Why we chose it

Naming chicken, chicken breast and chicken liver separately is more specific than most wet kitten foods bother with, and it's a genuine complete food rather than a topper dressed up as one. Three named cuts is a reasonable sign of a considered recipe.
