American Bulldogs are a large, powerfully built breed, typically weighing 27 to 54kg as adults, and their diet needs to match that size and muscle mass — a large-breed complete food with attention to joint support and controlled growth in puppies matters more for this breed than for a smaller, lighter dog.
Why size changes what to look for
A large, heavy breed like the American Bulldog carries more weight through its joints than a smaller dog, which makes joint-supporting nutrition, and simply avoiding excess weight, more important than it might be for a lighter breed. A large-breed formula is typically calibrated with this in mind.
