Full description

A rope lead survives a soaking better than a stitched webbing one, which matters more on a wet British walk than any colour choice does.

This is a nylon rope lead, 1.2cm thick and 107cm long, fitted with a trigger hook rather than a bolt snap, and available in five colours: black, blue, green, lilac and red.

On material: rope is a different failure mode to flat webbing - it frays visibly at the ends before it gives way, rather than splitting without warning, but a wet rope lead also holds water and stays damp in a bag longer than webbing does. Walk R Cise don't publish a maximum weight rating for it.

Who it's for: owners who prefer the grip of a rope lead to flat webbing, in a length long enough for general walking without becoming a long-line.

Why we chose it

Rope holds up better than webbing in the wet, and a trigger hook is a more secure fastening for a lead this length than the cheaper bolt-snap fittings some rope leads use. Five colours on one page means an actual choice, rather than the usual single option.
