This is a trigger lead, not a slip lead, so it relies entirely on your dog's collar being secure - Hemm & Boo don't include any guidance on collar fit, and a trigger clip is only as safe as the collar it's attached to.

Full description
A lead that's going to spend its life on wet beaches and muddy hillsides needs to be made from something that doesn't mind either, which rules out most fabric leads before you even get to the fittings.
This one uses manufactured sailing rope around an inner nylon core, finished with hand-stitched full-grain leather tabs at each end and a reflective band woven through the length for visibility in low light. It's 1.2cm thick and 120cm long, in one size, with a trigger hook that clips onto your dog's collar D-ring.
