Vitalin Adult Dog Small Breed Lamb with Mint

Owners looking for a single-protein food are usually doing it for a reason — a suspected sensitivity, or simply wanting to know exactly what's driving the recipe — and a lamb-led kibble that says explicitly what it leaves out is easier to shop from than one that doesn't.

This recipe is 36.5% lamb — 25% dried lamb, 10% freshly prepared lamb and 1.5% lamb gravy — built out with potato, sweet potato, rapeseed oil, whole peas, potato protein, sugar beet, dried carrot and parsnip, and whole linseed. Vitalin describe it as a single animal protein source recipe, specially formulated without chicken or grain, with chicory root extract and citrus extract included for gut and dental support.

On the label's own contradiction. Vitalin's ingredient list and their "formulated without chicken" claim don't sit comfortably together on this card — the recipe is described as single-protein lamb and free of chicken, so we've written this page on that basis rather than naming a second protein the manufacturer's own claim says isn't there.
