A recipe built for "every age" rather than a single life stage is a genuinely useful thing in a multi-dog household, because it means one bag can feed a young adult and an older dog at the same table without running two different foods.

Vitalin's Chicken with Thyme & Root Vegetable is built around chicken at 39% — split between dried chicken, freshly prepared chicken and chicken gravy — alongside potato, sugar beet, whole peas, sweet potato, chicken oil, dried carrot and dried parsnip. Protein comes out at 26%, fat 12%, fibre 3.0% and ash 8.0%. Vitalin's own description credits the citrus extract in the recipe with supporting dental health, and glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM with supporting joint health.

• 2kg or 12kg bag, complete dry food
• Chicken 39% (dried, freshly prepared and gravy combined)
• Protein 26%, fat 12%, fibre 3.0%, ash 8.0%
• Suitable for adult dogs of every age, including seniors
• Glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM included for joint support
• Feeding by weight ranges from 25-90g for toy/small dogs up to 455g+ for giant breeds

On sizing dogs correctly. Vitalin's feeding table spans a very wide range — toy dogs at 25g a day to giant breeds at 455g or more — so getting the right daily amount depends on knowing roughly where your dog sits in that range rather than guessing from the bag alone.

Who it's for: owners feeding one recipe across dogs of different ages, or anyone whose adult dog would benefit from the added joint-support ingredients as they get older.
