Full description

B-complex vitamins are water-soluble, which means a dog's body cannot bank a surplus of them the way it can with some other nutrients - the reasoning behind these tablets is that they need feeding daily rather than occasionally to have any lasting effect. That is the case for a supplement rather than a treat.

The tablets are built on dried brewer's yeast, with dicalcium phosphate and calcium carbonate, and are aimed at supporting coat, skin and general condition - particularly during times of change such as illness, stress or pregnancy. They come in a tub of 100.

Dried brewer's yeast base

What this is not. These are a supplement, not a treat and not a medicine - the reasoning is that they are fed every day for a cumulative effect on coat and skin condition, not reached for occasionally or used to treat an existing skin problem. A dog with a diagnosed skin condition needs veterinary advice, not a tablet.

Who it's for: dogs whose coat could do with support during a period of stress, illness or pregnancy, fed as a daily addition rather than an occasional treat.

Vetzyme Conditioning Tablets Dogs

Why we chose it

It is a straightforward, single-purpose supplement rather than something dressed up as a treat, and the daily-dosing logic behind B-vitamins is genuinely sound. A tub of 100 also lasts long enough to be worth having on the shelf rather than a novelty purchase.
