Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.
How to measure
- Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
- Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
- If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.
| Size | Typical back length | Typical chest |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 20–25 cm | 30–40 cm |
| S | 25–32 cm | 38–50 cm |
| M | 32–40 cm | 48–62 cm |
| L | 40–50 cm | 60–76 cm |
| XL | 50–60 cm | 74–92 cm |
Ranges are approximate and vary by style. Always check this product’s Specifications for its exact measurements.
Full description
A full costume is a lot to ask of a cat. A necktie is the version most animals will actually accept: it sits at the throat, weighs almost nothing, covers no part of the body they need in order to move, and comes off in a second if they decide they have had enough of it. Red plaid with a snowflake print, so it does Christmas without becoming a reindeer suit.
It is made from a wrinkle-resistant polyester, which is a genuinely useful property in something that gets pushed into a drawer in January and pulled back out eleven months later — it comes out looking the same rather than needing an iron nobody is going to fetch. The fabric is soft against the throat, wipes and washes clean, and holds its colour, so the same tie does Christmas and then a wedding in June.
- S: neck 13-19cm
- M: neck 20-22cm
- L: neck 23-27cm
- Wrinkle-resistant polyester
- Red plaid ground with a snowflake print
- Adjustable fastening, quick to put on and take off
Check the measurement first. The largest size fastens at 27cm, which covers a cat or a small to medium dog — a Labrador's neck is well past it. Measure around the neck where a collar would sit and allow two fingers of slack. As with anything worn, take it off when your pet is unsupervised: a tie is for a photograph and a party, not for sleeping in.
Who it's for: Cats, kittens, and small to medium dogs at Christmas, at weddings, and in front of the camera.
