Full description
One toy that only offers one thing to do runs out of interest quickly for most dogs, which is the case for a squeaky ball on its own or a rope on its own — attaching several textures to a single toy at least gives a dog more than one way to engage before it goes back in the box.
This is Smart Choice's Birthday Balloon toy: a soft plush balloon shape with an internal squeaker and crinkle material inside, joined to a length of rope and a tennis ball. It is part of the Birthday Pet range, made from polyester, roughly 40cm across, and comes in three colours — red, yellow and green.
- Plush balloon shape with internal squeaker
- Crinkle material built into the balloon
- Rope and tennis ball attached
- Polyester construction
- Approximately 40cm
- Available in red, yellow or green
On what's inside. Smart Choice describe the toy as supporting soft play and dental hygiene, which is their claim about the chewing action rather than something we have tested. As with any plush and rope combination, it is a supervised toy — the squeaker and crinkle material inside are not meant to be chewed out.
Who it's for: dogs who like a mix of squeak, tug and fetch in one toy, and owners who want a single birthday-shelf gift that covers more than one kind of play.

Why we chose it
Three textures on one toy — squeak, rope and ball — means a dog bored of one part still has two more reasons to pick it back up. It sits on the gift shelf as a genuine birthday present rather than just another squeaky ball.
