A working dog burns through energy in a way a house pet simply does not, and a food built for moderate to heavy activity is a different proposition to a standard adult recipe scaled up. Skinner's Field and Trial range is aimed specifically at that working-dog market, and this grain-free version leans on salmon rather than the more usual chicken or beef.

Salmon meat meal makes up 26.5% of the recipe and sweet potato chips a further 26%, alongside potato flake, peas, whole linseed and brewer's yeast. It also carries added glucosamine at 350mg/kg and chondroitin sulphate at 150mg/kg, aimed at joint support, plus MOS and FOS prebiotics each at 500mg/kg. Protein comes out at 25%, fat at 13%, crude ash at 9% and omega-3 at 1.41%.
