How to measure
- Width: lighter, narrower webbing for small dogs; wider, thicker webbing for strong pullers and larger dogs.

Sniffing is how a dog reads the world, and a short fixed lead on a quiet path denies most of it. A retractable reel gives that range back on the stretches where it is safe, then brings your dog to your side the moment something changes up ahead. The one-button brake sits under your thumb, so locking off takes no more thought than braking a bicycle, and no scrabbling for a clip.
Both a 3 metre and a 5 metre version are available, and the choice matters more than people expect. Three metres is the sensible length for pavements and for parks with paths near roads, while five suits open fields and beaches where nothing is coming the other way. The tape winds onto a spring-loaded reel inside a contoured handle shaped to sit in the palm without a hard edge digging in under your fingers.
