Dogs in genuinely strenuous training — not just an active pet, but one working or racing hard every day — burn through a different level of energy to a dog on ordinary walks, which is the whole reason performance feeds like this one exist as their own category.

Connolly's RED MILLS Racer is built from maize, dehydrated poultry meat, wheat, poultry fat, dehydrated beef meat, maize gluten, beet pulp, fishmeal, whole linseed, sodium chloride, calcium carbonate, chicory inulin and yeast extract — two named meats, poultry and beef, alongside fishmeal, rather than a single protein source. RED MILLS pitch it at pups, saplings, stud dogs, brood bitches and racing dogs specifically.

• Protein 27.0%, oil 15.0%, fibre 2.2%, ash 8.0%, moisture (max) 10.0%
• Two named meats: dehydrated poultry meat and dehydrated beef meat, plus fishmeal
• Complete dog food
• Suitable for pups, saplings, stud dogs, brood bitches and racing dogs
• 15KG sack

On who it isn't for. This is built for dogs in strenuous training or breeding work, not a companion dog on ordinary daily walks. A pet dog fed this instead of a standard complete food is likely to be over-fuelled on it rather than better off.

Who it's for: owners of dogs in strenuous training or racing, pups being reared for work, stud dogs and brood bitches — a working household's feed rather than a general pet shelf item.
