Pets in a hot house go looking for the tiled patch of kitchen floor, because bare tile draws heat out of them faster than carpet ever will. A cooling mat is the portable version of that tile. This one is quilted rather than gel-filled, so it feels like something worth lying on instead of a slab, and it can go in the rooms where there are no tiles at all.
The quilting keeps the filling evenly spread so it does not bunch into a lump at one end after a fortnight of being trodden on, and the surface is breathable, letting body heat move away rather than building up underneath. It lies flat on a floor, inside a crate or on top of an existing bed, and it is light enough to pick up and move as the sun tracks round the house. Sizes run S to XXL, with vacuum-packed options.
