Buying biscuit by the kilo is a commitment. It is the same treat, every day, for months, which is the one situation where spending five minutes on the composition line is obviously worth it — far more so than for something you buy once.

Pointer's Meaty Beefy Rolls are a crunchy complementary biscuit, suitable for any breed as a reward or a snack, and Pointer note the crunch gives teeth and gums some work. Nutritionally they run protein 16%, fat content 10%, crude fibres 3% and crude ash 7%, and they are enriched with vitamins and minerals — vitamin A at 5000IU per kg, vitamin D3 at 500IU per kg, plus iron, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium and iodine salts. The bag is 1.5KG.

On the word "Beefy". No beef appears anywhere in the composition. What Pointer actually declare is cereals first, then "Meat and Animal Derivatives (4% Meat Meal)" with no species named, then oils and fats, minerals, various sugars and derivatives of vegetable origin, with colourants and preservatives under additives. So the meat content is 4% and its origin is not stated. The biscuit is what it is — a cheap crunchy treat — but the name is doing work the label does not support.

Who it's for: households with a well-used treat jar who want the big bag and are buying on price and crunch, not on protein source.
