Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.

How to measure

Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.

A two-legged design halves the job — front legs in, pull it back over the shoulders, done — and for cats especially that difference decides whether something actually gets worn or gets fought over every time you try. It is the same warmth with a fraction of the argument.

Leaving the back legs free changes more than the dressing. Nothing wraps the hind end, so toileting is unaffected and an animal can squat and move normally, which is the usual reason a full bodysuit gets abandoned after a day. The hood adds warmth around the neck and folds down flat when it is not up. Two colours are listed, green and yellow, with sizes running from extra small through to 2XL.
