A hood on a dog jumper is mostly decoration and everybody knows it, since very few dogs will keep one up for longer than the moment it takes to shake their head. What it does do, though, is fill in the gap at the back of the neck when it is down, and on a small dog with a thin coat that gap is exactly where the draught gets in on a cold walk.

The knit itself is chunky and flecked with colour throughout rather than printed, so the speckles run through the yarn and will not fade or crack the way a print does after a few washes. On weather, and on sizing. Knit is warm right up until it gets wet, and then it is worse than nothing, so treat this as something for cold dry days and indoor lounging rather than rain.
