Pet coats and jumpers are sized mainly by back length, with chest girth as a second check. Back length matters most for coverage.
How to measure
- Back length: measure along the spine from the base of the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.
- Chest: measure around the widest part of the ribcage, behind the front legs.
- If the two measurements suggest different sizes, choose by back length and allow for the chest.

Full description
A cloak is the gentlest costume there is, because it hangs from the neck and shoulders rather than enclosing the body. Nothing goes over a leg, nothing tightens round the chest, and the whole thing lifts off in one movement the moment your pet has had enough. Printed with stars and paired with a matching pointed hat, it makes a complete look out of two loose pieces rather than one fitted garment.
Nine options are listed, covering the cloak on its own, the hat on its own, and the two together as a suit, each in small, medium and large. That is worth knowing before you order, because the hat is the piece most pets object to and buying the cloak alone is a perfectly legitimate choice. Pointed hats also sit high and catch on door frames, which is another good reason to keep the wearing time short.
