Full description

Freeze-drying solves the one practical problem that keeps a lot of owners away from raw feeding: freezer space. The water is removed under vacuum after freezing rather than by heat, which means the nutrients behave more like a raw diet than a cooked one, but the finished food sits on a shelf rather than in a chest freezer.

The recipe is 75% beef, with pumpkin, broccoli, apple and raspberry, plus small additions of seaweed, glucosamine and chondroitin. Protein runs high at 39%, and Nutriment give a guide of roughly 90g a day for a 10kg dog.

Beef 75%, pumpkin 8%, broccoli 7.5%
Moisture 3.5%, protein 39%, fat 32.5%
Complete food, freeze-dried
Guide: approximately 90g/day for a 10kg dog
225G pack

On rehydrating it. This card does not specify whether the food should be fed dry or rehydrated with water before serving, so it is worth checking the pack itself or asking before assuming either way for a puppy or a dog that gulps its food.

Who it's for: owners who want the nutritional profile of a raw diet without freezer storage - useful for camping, travel, or as a topper on another food.

Nutriment Freeze Dried Raw Food Beef

Why we chose it

Freeze-drying genuinely solves the freezer-space problem that puts a lot of people off raw feeding altogether, and 75% beef is a strong headline figure for a shelf-stable format. It is also useful as an emergency topper for the days a normal meal gets forgotten to defrost.
