How to measure
- Width: lighter, narrower webbing for small dogs; wider, thicker webbing for strong pullers and larger dogs.
- Standard lead (1.2–1.5 m): everyday pavement walks and training.
- Long line (3–10 m): recall practice and open spaces.
- Short / traffic lead (under 1 m): close control in busy areas.

Full description
The part of a lead that lets you down is rarely the rope. It is the handle, digging into the web of your thumb the moment a dog lunges at a squirrel, or a clip that has quietly worn loose over a winter of wet mornings. A round rope lead with a padded handle deals with the first problem, and a proper metal trigger clip deals with the second.
Round rope behaves differently from flat webbing. It does not bite into the hand the way a thin flat lead does when it goes taut, and it cannot fray along an edge, because it has no edge to fray. The padding at the handle spreads the load across your palm over a long walk. The metal trigger clip fastens to any collar or harness ring. It is listed in pink, green, blue and yellow, in four sizes.
