The advice that treats shouldn't be more than 10% of a dog's daily calories is easy to repeat and hard to actually judge without a calorie figure for the treat in front of you.

NAW's Buffalo Jerky is 100% buffalo — no additives, no preservatives, nothing else on the composition. It's sourced from free-range, hormone-free buffalo, which NAW position as a leaner alternative to beef or pork, and the analysis backs that positioning: protein 60%, fat 9%, fibre 1%, moisture 15%, ash 2%.

• 100% buffalo, single ingredient
• Protein 60%, fat 9%, fibre 1%, moisture 15%, ash 2%
• No additives or preservatives
• Resealable 150g bag
• Supervise feeding and remove small pieces
• Treats should stay under 10% of daily calorie intake

A gap worth flagging. Two different minimum ages appear on the card we hold for this product — one field says suitable from 12 weeks, another from 16 weeks — so we can't give a single confident number; treat the higher of the two as the safer guide until you've checked the pack. No calorie count is supplied either, which matters given NAW's own guidance about keeping treats under 10% of daily calories — you'll be estimating rather than calculating precisely.

Who it's for: owners after a single-ingredient, high-protein jerky treat, and anyone looking for a leaner alternative to a beef or pork jerky.
