Full description

Lamb is one of the pricier meats to lead a recipe with, so a food that puts 92% of it front and centre is making a genuine ingredient claim rather than a flavour note.

This is a wet pate-style food made with 92% lamb, plus a nutrient blend and water making up the remaining 8%. It comes in a recloseable carton, firm enough to be mashed, sliced, or used to fill feeding toys and lick mats.

On the format: as with Naturediet's Purely Chicken carton, one field on this listing tags the food as 'dry', but the wet-food category, the recloseable carton and the pate description all confirm it's a wet food - we've relied on that rather than the mislabelled field.

Who it's for: owners of adult dogs over 12 months looking for a single-protein lamb recipe, including those whose dog does better on lamb than beef or chicken.

Why we chose it

92% named lamb is an unusually high figure for a wet food, and lamb specifically is a protein a lot of dogs that struggle with beef or chicken tolerate well. The recloseable carton is also a practical touch that most tins simply don't offer.
