An older dog eating the same volume of food as it used to, but doing less with the energy from it, is the usual reasoning behind a lighter senior recipe.

It's built from turkey and chicken in equal measure (27.6% each), with carrots (8.8%), potato (5.8%), rice (4.7%) and dried seaweed (0.1%), the remaining 25.4% made up of a nutrient blend and water. It uses the same carton-and-nutrient-blend structure as the rest of Naturediet's Feel Good range, with turkey and chicken sharing equal billing here rather than one meat leading a second.

• Turkey 27.6%, chicken 27.6% (equal split)
• Carrots 8.8%, potato 5.8%, rice 4.7%
• Protein 8%, fat 6%, crude fibre 3%, crude ash 3%, moisture 75%
• 91.5 kcal per 100g
• Formulated for senior dogs
• 390G carton

On protein. At 8%, protein here sits lower than a standard adult wet recipe, consistent with a lighter senior formulation, though Naturediet don't spell out on this card exactly what the reduction is measured against.

Who it's for: owners of senior dogs wanting a lighter turkey-and-chicken recipe with equal parts of both meats.
