Full description

A spaniel eating from an ordinary round bowl drags both ears through the food with every mouthful, which is a mess for the dog and the floor alike — the fix has always been the shape of the bowl, not the food.

Moderna's Spaniel bowl is built deep and narrow with tall sides specifically to hold long ears back while the dog's muzzle reaches the food underneath. It's moulded in BPA-free, non-toxic plastic, holds 600ml, and is dishwasher safe for cleaning between meals.

600ml capacity
L 20.3 x W 18 x H 10.6cm
Deep, narrow shape with tall sides to keep ears clear of food
BPA-free, non-toxic plastic
Dishwasher safe
Colour: Soft Green

One thing worth knowing. Moderna describe the base as non-slip, but no independent grip figures are supplied, so a determined pusher may still be able to shift a lightweight plastic bowl across a hard floor. No weight for the bowl itself is published either.

Who it's for: owners of spaniels and other long-eared dogs who are tired of ears trailing through the food bowl at every meal.

Moderna Spaniel Bowl Soft Green

Why we chose it

The shape is the whole reason to buy this over a cheaper round bowl — it solves a problem specific to long-eared breeds that no amount of careful feeding fixes on its own. At 600ml it also suits most spaniel-sized appetites without needing refilling mid-meal.
