Full description

Owners picking a food by its name are choosing a flavour; the percentage panel further down the bag is choosing the actual recipe, and the two don't always point at the same ingredient.

This complete, grain-free dry food combines duck, salmon and venison under Lily's Kitchen's "freshly prepared" banner, 35% of the recipe in total, alongside a joint care mix, prebiotics and botanical herbs with potatoes, whole peas and whole lentils.

Complete, grain-free dry food, 2.5KG bag
35% freshly prepared meat: duck 20%, salmon 10%, venison 5%
Protein 22%, fat 13%, ash 6%, fibre 3%
Omega 6 1.8%, Omega 3 1.1%
368kcal/100g
Joint care mix and prebiotics included

On the name. Venison comes second in the product name, but it's the smallest of the three meats in the bag: duck is 20% of the recipe, salmon 10%, and venison just 5%. If venison specifically is what you're after — for a novel protein or an allergy — this is closer to a duck and salmon food with venison added than the other way round.

Who it's for: dogs already doing well on a grain-free diet built around duck and salmon, where venison is a small extra rather than the main reason to buy it.

Lily's Kitchen Dog Venison & Duck

Why we chose it

Duck and salmon together is a less common combination than most grain-free ranges offer, which is the reason to stock it rather than another chicken-led bag. It's grain free throughout too, so it's a straightforward swap for a dog already eating that way.
