Full description

A dog left alone with a lick mat needs something spreadable enough to actually stick to it, and plain roasted peanuts ground down are about as simple an answer as that gets.

It's 100% peanuts, with nothing else in the composition - no added sugar, salt, xylitol, preservatives or stabilisers, per Lickimat's own additive list. That absence matters more than it sounds for peanut butter bought for dogs, because xylitol is the sweetener some human peanut butters carry and this one is confirmed not to.

100% peanuts, nothing else added
Protein 24.4%, fat content 49.7%
Crude fibre 8.4%, crude ash 3%
No added sugar, salt, xylitol, preservatives or stabilisers

On the fat content. At 49.7% fat, this is a genuinely high-fat product - fine as an occasional lick-mat filler, less fine as a regular topper on top of a full meal. The makers don't give a feeding amount or frequency for this one, so there's no manufacturer guidance to pass on beyond using it sparingly.

Who it's for: Owners using a lick mat for calming or slow-feeding enrichment, and anyone wanting a peanut butter they know for certain contains no xylitol - a genuine risk in some human jars.

Lickimat Peanut Butter

Why we chose it

Confirming there's no xylitol in a jar of peanut butter sold for dogs shouldn't be a selling point, but plenty of owners have been caught out reaching for a human jar without checking. This one is peanuts and nothing else, which is the whole reason to buy a dog-specific jar rather than raiding the cupboard.
