Specifications

Brand: Johnson's

Full description

A pet accident on a carpet is really two problems, not one: the stain you can see, and the smell that lingers long after the patch looks clean — which is often what brings an animal back to the same spot to go again.

Johnson's build this one around natural enzyme action rather than a masking fragrance, described as a biological stain and odour remover. It's a 500ml trigger spray meant for pet accidents on carpets, rugs, upholstery and fabric, whether that's in the home or in the car.

500ml trigger spray
Biological formula with natural enzyme action
For pet stains and odours
Suitable for carpets, rugs, upholstery and fabric
For use in the home or in the car

On what it won't do. This is a stain and odour remover rather than a disinfectant for illness-related mess — Johnson's make no claim about killing bacteria or viruses with this product, so for anything beyond a routine accident, reach for a proper disinfectant as well.

Who it's for: owners of a young, elderly or occasionally accident-prone pet who want a genuine enzyme cleaner in the cupboard, rather than something that just perfumes over the smell.

Johnson's Clean 'N' Safe Stain/Odour Remover

Why we chose it

Enzyme action is the bit that actually matters here — it breaks the stain down rather than just covering the smell, which is the difference between a carpet a pet stops returning to and one it doesn't. A trigger spray is also easier to aim precisely than an aerosol.
