Older dogs are often moved toward wet food as chewing gets harder, and a gravy pouch with a joint-support additive folded in does two jobs at once — softer eating and a small ongoing contribution to ageing joints — without asking an owner to buy two separate products.

Chicken makes up 44% of the meaty chunk here and lamb 28%, alongside a mix of white and brown rice, carrots and peas, plus glucosamine added by fermentation. It is a complete food for senior dogs, excluding beef, pork, soya, eggs, dairy and wheat.

On the ingredient list. James Wellbeloved's published composition for this pouch names "chicken* 44% in the chunk" but its own bracketed breakdown lists "deboned ground turkey" among the chicken's components — an inconsistency on the source label rather than something we can resolve from here. We're passing on exactly what's published rather than guessing which meat is correct.

Who it's for: senior dogs moving to wet food for easier eating, where the added glucosamine is a welcome extra rather than the main reason for choosing it.
