Product description

Large-breed puppy portions depend on where the dog is expected to finish as an adult as well as how many months old the puppy is today.

IAMS Puppy Large Breed with Chicken is complete dry food for large-breed puppies. Its composition declares 26% dried chicken and turkey, including 16% chicken, plus 10% fresh chicken. Barley, maize, 2.5% dried beet pulp, sunflower oil, pork fat, chicken gravy, fish oil and 0.2% fructooligosaccharides are also listed. The analysis states 26% protein, 14% fat, 2.6% crude fibre and 6% crude ash. Calcium is 1.1%, phosphorus 0.8%, omega-3 0.5% and DHA 0.18%.

The feeding table needs two inputs, not one. Choose the row for expected adult body weight and the column for the puppy’s age in months. The supplied guide covers expected adult weights from 25kg to 90kg and extends to 24 months for dogs expected to exceed 40kg. Do not copy a figure from a different age or target size. The manufacturer calls the amounts rough guidelines, advises adjustment for the individual puppy, recommends a four-day changeover and says fresh water should always be available.

Who it's for: owners raising a large-breed puppy who know the expected adult-weight range and want a complete chicken dry food with a growth-stage feeding matrix.

Why we chose it

The age-by-expected-adult-weight table addresses the two factors needed to read a large-breed puppy guide accurately. Declared chicken, calcium, phosphorus and DHA values add useful comparison points.
