Full description
A pet recovering from a vet visit, or just an older one on a cold morning, often settles faster with steady warmth underneath them than with a blanket on top, which only warms where it touches.
The Hottie is a microwaveable heat pad that can be used on its own or placed inside a pet bed or carrier. Petlife describe it as providing gentle, constant warmth that stays warm for hours after a few minutes in the microwave, with a chew and claw resistant construction and a washable cover.
- Microwaveable
- Stays warm for hours, per Petlife
- Washable cover
- Chew and claw resistant
- Weighs 0.75kg
- Suitable for cats, dogs and other small pets
On the details Petlife don't give. There's no stated microwave time or wattage guidance on the facts we hold, and no maximum temperature figure — check the pad isn't too hot to the touch before putting it near your pet, the same as you would any microwaved item.
Who it's for: owners of a pet recovering from a vet or kennel stay, or an older animal that feels the cold, wanting steady warmth without an electric heat mat plugged in.

Why we chose it
No cables and no socket needed is the actual selling point over an electric heat pad — it works anywhere you can use a microwave, including a crate in the car. A washable, chew-resistant cover matters more than it sounds once an anxious or recovering pet is actually lying on it.
