The recipe's largest single component is a meat meal blend at 24%, of which turkey makes up 4% and bacon 0.5%, with chicken added separately, also at 4%, further down the ingredients list behind wholegrain wheat, wheat bran and sugar. On the analysis it comes to 20% protein, 7.5% fat, 3% fibre, 9.5% ash and 18% moisture, with calcium at 2% and phosphorus at 1.7%, working out at 296kcal per 100g. Chicory extract and yeast extract are each added at 0.05%.

What the name doesn't tell you: turkey is 4% of a 24% meat meal blend, and chicken is listed separately, also at 4%, but only after wholegrain wheat, wheat bran and sugar on the ingredients panel. That ordering means there's more wheat and sugar in this bag than either named meat on its own.

Who it's for: a dog that won't settle for hard kibble but doesn't need a wet tray either, and an owner who wants a shelf-stable everyday food rather than one picked specifically for its turkey or chicken content.
