Measure round the widest part of the chest just behind the front legs. Small suits terriers, cockers and whippets, Medium spaniels, beagles and border collies, Large labradors, retrievers and shepherds. Between sizes, go up.

A slip lead tightens when the dog pulls, so it is for a dog that walks on a loose lead. For a puller, keep the harness and clip the blinker to it; the vest and blinker still do the visibility job.

The vest is water resistant and the LEDs sit inside a sealed strip, so rain and wet grass are fine. Dry it flat afterwards rather than on a radiator, and check the battery cover is clicked shut before every walk.
