How to measure
- Width: lighter, narrower webbing for small dogs; wider, thicker webbing for strong pullers and larger dogs.
- Standard lead (1.2–1.5 m): everyday pavement walks and training.
- Long line (3–10 m): recall practice and open spaces.
- Short / traffic lead (under 1 m): close control in busy areas.

Full description
A slip lead does one job differently to a clip lead: it goes on and off in seconds with no collar to fumble with, which matters most in exactly the moment you need it most — a dog that has slipped its collar, or one you are handing over at a vet's or a rescue kennel for the first time.
This one is built from Ancol's durable poly-weave webbing, 120cm long and 12mm wide, with a leather adjuster for fit and leather finishings at the ends. Reflective weave runs through the length of it, and Ancol give a maximum recommended weight of 50kg for the lead.

On the weight limit. 50kg is Ancol's own ceiling for this lead, not a guideline to work up to — a heavy, determined puller at or near that limit puts more strain on any slip lead than a clipped collar and separate lead would, simply because of how a slip lead transmits force around the neck.
