Harnesses are sized by the chest (girth) — the measurement around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs.

How to measure

Stand your pet up squarely.
Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
Keep two fingers under the tape so the fit is snug, not tight.
If your pet is between sizes, choose the larger one.

A kitten harness fitted from an adult cat set tends to be loose enough to wriggle out of, which is why sizing matters more here than on most other kit. Hemm & Boo's kitten version of their Snagfree set is cut to a genuinely smaller size rather than just being the cat harness in a smaller box.

It's the same tightly woven, snag-resistant nylon webbing as the adult cat set, fully adjustable, with a D-ring on the back strap for the matching lead. Sized for a kitten, it fits a neck of 6-8in (15-20cm) and a chest of 8-12in (20-30cm).
